THE FILMMEMORY PROJECT (graduation project)

This project covers the entire fourth semester: succesful completion of the FilmMemory project allows students to graduate from the programme. Each FilmMemory project consists of two related parts: a Graduation essay and a Graduation project, worth 10 and 20 credits respectively, which can be switched around according to the choice of the student. This choice (10 ECTS for Graduation essay and 20 ECTS for the Graduation project or vice versa) must be made at the beginning of the 4th semester.

The Graduation essay is a written, individual work. It must meet master level academic standards, be based on personal and original research, demonstrate proficiency in critical thinking and have the format of a publishable article or essay.

The Graduation project is an individual work that is archive based and thus uses pre-existent audio-visual material, or related data, as its main component. It may be part of a larger work, for instance a group project, but the individual contribution of the student must be authorial, not solely technical, and be clearly defined.
